Welcome to Cardiff Hackspace
Who are we?
Cardiff Hackspace is a shared workspace for people who like to learn and make stuff. Our members interests include electronics, robotics, woodwork, metalwork, photography, music, jewellery making, paper craft and textiles. We have a lovely space with plenty of room to work either by yourself, or with others.
The term “Hackspace” is also often known as “Makerspace”, “Hackerspace” or “Hacklab” – and is a community, non-profit movement with different groups all across the world. It’s not always possible or practical to have the equipment to build your ideas – but we hope that the space and community here at Cardiff Hackspace can get you closer!
We have a range of hand tools and machinery including a laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC machines, soldering irons, grinders, mill and lathe. We also have a collection of new and salvaged components, donated items and raw materials for members to use.
Talk to us!
The Cardiff Hackspace community keeps in touch using Discord. We are open to anyone and especially encourage people from Cardiff and surrounding areas to come along and say hi!
Don’t worry, we are very friendly! If you’ve not used it before, Discord is a free and simple messaging platform for communities – simply sign up and click the “join” link above!
Want to visit?
We tend to be available to show people around on Thursday evenings and Saturdays – but please message us first on our Discord server so we are expecting you and can arrange an actual time!
